Trust Administration

Trust Administration

A well-structured trust or estate plan is only as effective as its administration. Even the most carefully drafted documents can fail if distributions are mishandled, tax obligations are overlooked, or records are poorly maintained. My fiduciary administration services are designed to provide families and advisors with the professional oversight and continuity that ensures every plan is executed faithfully.

My Role as  Trustee

I serve as an independent fiduciary focused exclusively on the administration of trusts. Unlike corporate trustees who require investment control, or family members who may lack experience, I provide a neutral, professional solution that preserves the integrity of your estate plan. My responsibilities include:

  • Trust Compliance & Recordkeeping
    • Maintaining accurate ledgers, trustee minutes, and beneficiary communications.
    • Coordinating fiduciary tax filings and ensuring adherence to state and federal trust law.
  • Distribution Oversight
    • Reviewing and documenting beneficiary requests.
    • Making discretionary decisions in line with the trust terms (HEMS standard and beyond).
  • Beneficiary Communication
    • Providing transparency and accountability through regular accountings and reports.
    • Acting as a neutral intermediary to reduce conflict and preserve family harmony.
  • Directed or Co-Trustee Structures
    • Working alongside attorneys, family members, or investment advisors.
    • Serving as the administrative backbone while allowing others to manage investments or legal strategy.

Why This Matters

Fiduciary administration is where estate plans succeed or fail. By appointing a professional focused solely on administration, you eliminate gaps in compliance, reduce liability for attorneys and family members, and create confidence that the trust will endure across generations.

Fee Structure

Administration fees are structured transparently, typically on a basis-point schedule (30 bps) of trust assets or, in some cases, as a flat annual fee, depending on the size and complexity of the trust.
